The Insure GA program is a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) funded, focused initiative of the 501(c)3 nonprofit public charity Health Care Central Georgia, Inc. (HCCG) which does business as Community Health Works (CHW). The project described was supported by Funding Opportunity Number CA-NAV-15-001 from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Community Health Works was founded in 2001 with a mission of helping the uninsured and under insured get access to quality healthcare. When we learned of the University of Georgia’s Regional Extension Service being unable to continue as a Health Insurance Marketplace navigator resource for much of rural Georgia, we worked with partnering organizations to develop a plan to help uninsured Georgians outside of Metro Atlanta gain access to health insurance and ultimately healthcare through the Health Insurance Marketplace (healthcare.gov).
